This morning, a grey and muggy NYC morning, they were turned on officially. Yes it looks nice but do i really give a fuck? No. Why dont they invest in new books and computers for schools. Why dont they fix the fucking potholes in the streets first before they decide to spend our state tax dollars on this shit? How is this shit going to help anyones commute? The city constantly states that they have to hike up train and bus fares due lack of money.. is this the reason for it? Fuck this shit.. who the fuck voted for this shit?

Not completely true, SIC is right. If you check their website, they specifically say:
“The Public Art Fund is a non-profit organization supported in part with PUBLIC FUNDS from the New York State Council on the Arts, A State Agency, the City of New York Department of Cultural Affairs, and through generous contributions from individuals, foundations and corporations.”
They also list a few other government agencies. So, yes, tax dollars are being used to fund part of this.
